On the banks of the River Swale in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, this 13th-century former coaching inn offers freshly prepared, homemade food and light rooms with flat-screen TVs. Free parking is available, and Richmond is less than 10 miles away.

Full English breakfasts are available each morning and The Bridge Inn rears its own pigs, cures the bacon and makes the black pudding.
